Updated Step by Step Guide on how to apply for SSS Salary Loan Online
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After you have successfully submitted your Maternity notification to SSS, the next question you probably have in mind is how much maternity benefit would you get. Prior to computing the amount of benefit, determine first the date range when the 12 month petiod would fall based on your expected date of delivery.
Let us say that you are expected to give birth in December 2014, exclude the semester of contingency from July 2014 to December 2014. Count 12 months backward. The 12 month period would be from July 2013 to June 2014. These are the important dates that you need to have at least three months contribution to qualify for maternity benefit. Get your six highest monthly salary credit within that period,
Scenario 1
If you pay premium payments from January to June 2014 that corresponds to the 16,000 salary credit (that means you are paying the maximum monthly contribution as voluntary member (based on the 2014 schedule) with 1,760.00 monthly), the computation of your maternity benefit would be as follows:
- Add the six highest monthly salary credits to get the total monthly salary credit.
16,000 x 6 months = 96,000 - Divide the total monthly salary credit by 180 days to get the average daily salary credit. This is equivalent to the daily maternity allowance.
96,000 / 180 days = 533.33 - Multiply the daily maternity allowance by 60 (for normal delivery or miscarriage) or 78 days (for caesarean section delivery) to get the total amount of maternity benefit.
533.33 x 60 days = P 32,000 for normal delivery
533.33 x 78 days = P 41,600 for caesarean delivery
If you pay premium payments from July 2013 to December 2013 that corresponds to the 15,000 salary credit (that means you are paying the maximum monthly contribution as voluntary member (based on the 2013 schedule), afterwhich you only pay 550.00 monthly contribution from January to June 2014 which is lower than your previous payments, the computation of your maternity benefit would be as follows:
- Add the six highest monthly salary credits to get the total monthly salary credit.15,000 x 6 months = 90,000
- Divide the total monthly salary credit by 180 days to get the average daily salary credit. This is equivalent to the daily maternity allowance.90,000 / 180 days = 500
Multiply the daily maternity allowance by 60 (for normal delivery or miscarriage) or 78 days (for caesarean section delivery) to get the total amount of maternity benefit.
500 x 60 days = 30,000 mat benefit for normal delivery
500 x 78 days = 39,000 mat benefit for caesarean delivery
Scenario 3
You missed premium payments from July 2013 to December 2013 but you have payments from January to June 2014 with corresponding salary credit amounting to 5,000 (or you paid 550 monthly) your computation would be:
5,000 x 6 months = 30,000
30,000 / 180 days = 166.66 daily mat benefit
166.66 x 60 days = P 10,000 mat benefit for normal delivery
166.66 x 78 days = P 13,000 mat benefit for caesarean delivery
Scenario 4
You have premium payments from July 2013 to September 2013 with 5,000 salary credit (that means you have paid 520.00 monthly contribution). Then for some reason you failed to pay for the succeeding months. As the requirement requires you
to have at least three months contribution within the twelve month period preceding your semester of contingency, you still qualify for the benefit however you will only get this amount
5,000 X 3 months = 15,000
15,000 / 180 days = 83.33 daily maternity benefit
83.33 X 60 days = P 5,000 maternity benefit for normal delivery
83.33 X 78 days = P 6,500 maternity benefit for normal delivery
Scenario 4
You have premium payments from July 2013 to September 2013 with 5,000 salary credit (that means you have paid 520.00 monthly contribution). Then for some reason you failed to pay for the succeeding months. As the requirement requires you
5,000 X 3 months = 15,000
15,000 / 180 days = 83.33 daily maternity benefit
83.33 X 60 days = P 5,000 maternity benefit for normal delivery
83.33 X 78 days = P 6,500 maternity benefit for normal delivery
There you go...keep in mind, the higher your monthly contribution payment, the higher maternity benefit you will get.

if I am expecting a twin babies? does it differ from the mat i could receive if singleton pregnancy? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi madeline,
Deletethe maternity benefit is based on your salary credit, the number of applicable months and type of delivery. Whether you will be delivering twins, it does not mean that you will get twice benefit. it will only differ if you will be caesarean or normal delivery.
Is it ok if mag file aq ng mat benefits after I gave birth nlng po?
ReplyDeletePlease be reminded that there are two forms that you need to submit to sss. The MAT1 is the maternity notification that you need to submit to your employer, if employed and directly to sss if voluntary or self employed immediately once you have learned of your pregnancy, prior to your due date. The Mat2 form is the one that you will submit after giving birth together with supporting document. Failure to submit your MAT1 will result to denial of maternity claim. You need to strictly follow the requirements for submission to avoid problems
DeleteHi ms.arlene im julie
ReplyDeleteAsk q lng po f pwd p po aq mgfile ng maternity q kc po im 6months birth n po tpos nung july 25 2012 po un last n ngwork aq...please reply f i still qualified for my maternity...tnx and godbless po
Julie luna
ReplyDeleteI don't think you will qualify for it since you need to have at least three months contribution within the 12 month period excluding the semester of contingency. In your case you need to have at least 3 months contribution from july 2012 to june 2013. But since 1 month lang ang may hulog sa iyo, hindi ka qualified sa maternity benefit.
DeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteDue ako on Nov2014. Tama ba? :)
Thanks!
Mel
You did not mention how much is Your salary credit. Depende po iyon how much is your salary credit, how many months (3 to 6 months) at kun normal o caesarean delivery.
DeleteHi po.. i am an active member since 2009.. would i be entitled for a benefit if ndi pa ako nkka.file ng mat1 and 2.. tgen i had miscarriage 5wks.6days pregnancy just yesterday.. :(
ReplyDeleteIn your case posibleng sabay mo na ifile ang mat1 at mat2 mo together with medical records to prove you had miscarriage at your first trimester.

ReplyDeleteHi ive been a member since jun 2007-feb 2009.. then ive become a teacher in the public sch so nastop payment q. I'll be giving birth on srpt 2014. Ngsimula aq mghulog voluntarily mula jan-march 275php per month lng po would i be qualified to get benefits? Mga how much po kya?
If sept ka due, ang sem of contingency mo is apr to sept. so yun jan to march mo ang counted for the required three months contribution.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteHi. May 7 2014 po ang expected delivery date ko. Tapos yung first contribution ko was last november 2012. Then nahinto siya October 2013. Yung mga malalaking contributions ko is atleast 1,560.00.
ReplyDeleteAng semester of contingency mo ay jan to jun 2014. ang 12 month period na dapat may 3 months contribution ka will fall from january to dec 2013. Lumalabas na entitled ka sa maternity benefit provided you have submitted your maternity notification to SSS.
ReplyDeleteTandaan nyo po na ang requirement na sinasaad sa guidelines...at least three months contribution within the 12 month period prior to semester of contingency.
ReplyDeleteHi po I'm 8mo's pregnant now, Unemployed.
ReplyDeleteYou can only avail of the maternity benefit if you satisfy the requirements like the required contribution. Sa case mo na 8 weeks pregnant ka, you should already file the MAT1 with supporting document that will prove of your pregnancy. Since you will go through an operation due to miscarriage, you submit the MAT2 together with your medical/obstetrical records after the operation to claim your maternity benefit.
ReplyDeleteHi dear 8 months pregnant, i am very sorry to tell you that it is very late for you para makahabol sa required contribution.
File your mat1 to your employer immediately. Or directly to sss ig you are voluntary or self employed.
Deleteneed p po b s mat claim ung ultrasound n nkaattach s mat 1 nwala q kc ung ultrasound q pero ung mat 1 q is nsa akin p po

Yes, qualified ka sa maternity benefit. Sundin nyo lamang ang computation based on my post.
ReplyDeletehi gud day.. qualified po ba ako if almost a year pa lang akong employed at naghuhulog sa sss? march 2013 upto now.. if ever na due ko is on last week ng may or first week ng june 2014 .. then how much kaya yung possible amount na pwede kong makuha ,.. need an answer.. please.. thanks a lot..
ReplyDeleteUltrasound is a supporting document attach to the Mat1 if you file your notification thru your employer or directly to SSS office. This is not needed if MAT1 is filed online thru My.SSS
ReplyDeleteHi! Ms. Arlene i need some help.
ReplyDeleteI was expected to give birth this coming september 2014.Pero ang problema po employed ako, binabawasan kami nang SSS pero hindi binabayad almost 6 months na po.Pwede pa rin po ba ako mag claim?
tnx 4 response ms.
DeleteHi gud pm! Thank you!
Or april to september?
ReplyDeleteThanks
Nakapag-file po ako ng MAT1 last year.
ReplyDeletei just want to verify if makaka-avail ako ng maternity benefits,? ang due date ko po kasi is aug 5,2014, pero last year of may pa po ako huling naghulog ng contribution, so since june til present wala po akong hulog. pahelp naman po .thanks and godbless..
cindy of calamba city.
You need to have at least 3 months contribution from april 2013 to mar 2014 to qualify.
Deletehello gud pm ms. arlene, pa help naman po,ask ko lang po if makaka-avail ako ng maternity benefits. wala po akong work since last year june, ang date of delivery ko po is aug 2014, ang last hulog ko po is may 2013, pa compute naman po if capable po akong makakuha ng maternity benefits..
ReplyDeletethanks ang godbless..
Pls refer to previous comment and reply
Deletehi ms arlene ask ko lang if makaka avail din ako ng maternity benefits, nakapaghulog lang ako ng sss ko nung my work ako nung april 2009 to july 2009 tas january 2011 to april 2011 tas after nun di n ko nakahulog my makukuha po kaya ako benefits? nanganak po ako nung december 2011.
ReplyDeletetnx!
marjz
DeleteHi marjz,
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by... You could have qualified for it kung naipasa mo sana ang MAT1 form mo before ka nanganak.
Hello,
good day! I have a question hindi ko po kasi lam if what time ako mgiistart ng computation e kasi ang nakaFile sa MAT1 na manganganak siya ay OCT 2014 kaso sabi ng doctor niya ay baka LAST week of SEPT. or 1st week of OCT. I very need your answer. Thank You :)
ReplyDeleteHi pregnant kc ako naun , ang nxt m0nth n q0 manganak .. 5m0nths pa lng naihul0g ko sa sss ,. Last august ako ngst0p n ngtrbaho .. qualified po b k0ng mkakuha ng maternity benefits ?
ReplyDelete, ako aman po manganak nxt m0nth , peo 5m0nths ko p lng nahu.2lugan sss q0 . Last august ng.st0p aq ngtrbaho ,. Qualified pa b q0ng mkakuha ng maternity benefits ?
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteHi jessa, it is better to visit an sss office to seek advice on your claim. You are entitled to it naman. You can also send a letter to SSS stating your condition.
DeleteHi , im Aicah, i have 20 mons contributions na po.
ReplyDeleteFrom july2009-dec2009 , july2012-april2013 , sept2013-feb2014 .
My due date is firstweek of oct.
Thanks for answering.
More power!
Ang mahalagang may hulog ka is between july 2013 to june 2014.
Deletehow long to get sss maternity check?
DeleteHi aicah, it is better if you continue your contribution. If oct ang due mo you need to have contribution from jul 2013 to june 2014. Yung six highest salary credit during that period ang magiging basis ng computation ng mat benefit mo.
ReplyDeleteHi ask q LNG po..
ReplyDeleteDue AQ ng nov2014
And my monthly contribution is P415
Nag start po AQ mg work ng feb2014
Pro sa previous work q october2013 to decmbr2013 same lng P415 contribution q monthly..
So NSA mg kano po kya mkukuha qng benefit??
ReplyDeleteYou can continue paying contribution, it is better if you start early para masatisfy mo yun required number of contribution at magqualify ka sa mat benefit
Deletehi! m jen due date ko po dec 2014 pero ala po ko remitnce whole last year. ngyn jan to march 2014 lng po ulit ako nkpghulog.pero meron n po 20 mon.contribution po. ask ko lng po if m qualified for d benefit.
ReplyDeleteQualified ka for the benefit since ang 12 month period na dapat may hulog ka ng at least three months ay nasatisfy with your jan to mar payment.
Deletehi im ken. m due on july. but my payment cont frm feb to aprl is higher dan the amount paid last year. nu po b consider nila n salary range. i paid 1,045-dec 2013 to jan2014 then, 1,540 feb-apr 2014. ur answer will be much highly apprec8ted.
ReplyDeleteYun lang po six month highest salary credit within the 12 month period excluding the semester of contingency ang basis ng computation.
DeleteHi ms Arlene..
ReplyDeleteJuz wana ask..
You need to visit an sss branch to update your records and most likely hindi mo pa napresent ang orig na birth certificate mo kaya temporary ang binigay sa yong number.
Most likely around 41,600 ang estimated mat benefit mo however as you have arrears sa loan mo, posibleng ibawas yun ng SSS.

Hi ms arlene. Thanks
Sundin mo lang ang computation sa post ko to derive the mat benefit that you will get.
Deletehi, ask ko lang po if we have an estimated date na pwede dumating half ng maternity benefit ko, as per sss online account ko,sss was notified and they received my mat 1 documents last june 19,2014 and i'm expecting my cs delivery early july, will i be having any problems kc kakasubmit lang mat 1 ko?
ReplyDeletehi, ask ko lang po if we have an estimated date na pwede dumating half ng maternity benefit ko, as per sss online account ko,sss was notified and they received my mat 1 documents last june 19,2014 and i'm expecting my cs delivery early july, will i be having any problems kc kakasubmit lang mat 1 ko?
ReplyDeleteAng requirement is to notify SSS by submitting your MAT1. Since nakasubmit ka naman, there is no reason for you to worry as long as it was confirmed accepted by SSS.
Deletethanks 4 response ms. Arlene,, big help po,, separated dn po b kau? Kc aq separated dn nbsa q other blog, req. Have you tried the forgot password sa my.sss? It works to regain access to your account.
DeleteOnce na naaccept na ng Sss branch ang claim mo at wala naman sinabing kulang during submission, you do not need to worry. You can email them or you can use the text sss to know the status of your claim.
DeleteHi ms arlene ask ko lng po kung Qualified po aq sa maternity benefits... my due date is this july 2014 nakapag file na po ako ng mat 1..my contributions po ako nung jan. 2013 to april 2013..den ngaun january 2014 lang po ulit nahulugan ng new employer ko..january to june 2014 meron po ako.. nsa 432 / per month po ung dinideduct nila skn monthly..makakapag avail po ba ako ng benefits?? at magkano po kaya??
ReplyDeletehi. pls help me naman po to compute.
ReplyDeleteim a member since 2010.
expected delivery ko po ay sept2014.
ang last na hulog ko ng sunod2, ay july-dec2013 tpos nasundan xa ng feb-april2014.
Ang semester of contingency would be april to sep 2014. You need to have payments from april 2013 to mar 2014.qualified ka as to required contribution. Kung the same amount ang 6400 salary credit mo in six months that would be 6400x6/180x60 =12800
Deletethanks 4 response ms. Arlene,, u'r such a big help.. Lalo nsa mga kgaya q n less ung knowledge about dis benefits,, and naless dn ung worry q about my claim,, about s sss acct. ReplyDeleteHi po gud day!
Ang byad q lng pu is nov 2013 to may 2014. Qualified pu b ko? Thank u so much.
Hello, if august ang due date mo ang semester of contingency is april to sept. ang 12 month period na dapat may hulog ka at least 3 months is from april 2013 to march 2014. You are qualified for the mat benefit just make sure that you have submitted your mat1 through your employer if employed ka or directly to sss or online if voluntary, self employed or ofw member ka.

how much maternity benefits ko? pls help me compute. thanks
'
Your semester of contingency w/c is excluded in computation is April to Sept 2014. Based on your given figures the highest salary credit considered are 10000 + 8500 + 13500 + 11500 + 15000 + 10500 = 69,000 divide by 180 = 383.33 multiply by 60 to get 22,999.80 as your estimated mat benefit. SSS still has the final say on how much you would get esp if you have arrears in your loans but more or less that is how you should compute your mat claim.
ReplyDeleteHi april, jan to june 2014 ang considered 6 months salary credit. Your mat claim would be 41600.since hindi mo nahulugan ang loan mo posibleng ibawas yun including interest and penalty.
Ask ko lang po kung how much makukuha ko sa sss kung ang contribution ko lang ay 275 for 3mons. Thanks :)

ReplyDeleteIf employed ka sa company dapat na iadvance ito sa iyo ng company mo provided you have submitted the mat1. Otherwise you need to visit an sss office and file your claim personally.

You still qualify kahit may missed payment ka since may hulog ka naman from april 2013 to jan 2014 na more than 3 months required.
Tnx
ReplyDeleteQualified ka if meron ka contribution from january to december 2014. I have a related post on that. You will get an estimated amount of 7000 as mat benefit.
You can also check at my.sss ang computation mo
Deletecan i still avail the maternity benefits kung hindi ko nabayaran yong monthly contribution ko nong february 2014 to may 2014?
ReplyDeleteHi arlene just want to ask if im qualified for mat benefits. Im 6weeks pregnant but had a miscarriage last sunday. I havent filed for mat1. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHi sherry, if september due date mo exclude mo yun payments from april to september 2014. You need to have at least three months contributions to qualify from april 2013 to march 2014.
ReplyDeleteSince you have miscarriage, you can still file for mat benefit.
ReplyDeleteHi po I just want to ask,nag file na po ako ng mat1 sa employer ko first week of july2014 then follow up daw for 1month kelan ko po kaya makukuha yung check? Before po ba ng due date ko? September is my due date. Pls reply thank you
ReplyDeleteGood AM, my daughter had been 8 weeks pregnant and her ultrasound result showed a blighted ovum. Consequently her OB advised her to have a D&C right away. She's unemployed right now and is already 22 yrs old so she's no longer my hmo dependent. She used to work with CBTL but she left there since 2012. Her recent employment was being a property consultant so she didnt have a fixed salary. But her work in CBTL deducted SSS contributions for her. Can I claim for SSS Maternity benefit? We didnt ahve achane to notify SSS right away since after the ultrasound she was instructed to be admitted to the hospital right away. How many contributions is required. Kindly help me on this. Many thanks
ReplyDeleteHi there, the answer depends on whether your daughter qualifies for the mat benefit as regards the required contribution. If she is admitted in the hospital this July, the semester of contingency would fall from april to september 2014. That means she should have at least three months contribution within the 12 month period from April 2013 to march 2014 whether as employed or voluntary member.
ReplyDeleteTo the one who filed her maternity through her employer the check should be released prior to your due date. Your employer should advance to you the mat benefit. You now have an idea how to compute your mat benefit so expect to receive such amount from your employer.

ReplyDeleteHello! Good Evening, nag file ako thru may employer din. due ko last week of november or 1st week of december. San ko kukuhain young maternity benefit cheque ko sa employer or sa sss or i-mail thru sa address ko?
ReplyDeleteThank you!
Thank you po...

hello po I am connie, tanong ko lng po if ng file po ba ng mat1 sure na po na my makukuhang benefits? expected dlivery ko po is on august 2014 dn unemployed na po ako since january 2014, yung contribution ko lng po june2013 to dec 2013 hndi na po ako nkapaghulog ds year.. qualify po ba ako? if yes mgkano po kaya? yung monthly salary credit ko ay mga 5000 cguro so mgkano po kaya makukuha ko?..
ReplyDeleteplsss reply po.. tnx and godbless!
Hi Concepcion,
ReplyDeleteIf you have contribution since june to december, qualified ka for mat benefit. Just make sure you have notified SSS by submitting mat1 prior to your due date.
Thank u so much :-)

hi.. i am 5 months pregnant and my due date is on december 2014.. is it true that there is a new process in filing for maternity benefits and it is thru d bank? my HR assistant is having difficulties filing and still don't know what to do. Looking forward for your reply. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi Ms. Arlene, question ko lang po about my maternity benefit, kasi may existing loan ako.. will it affect yung makukuha ko na claims? qualified naman ako for the said benefit kaso since hinde ko natuloy yung payment sa loan ko, and hinde rin napost nung last employer ko ayun.. ibabawas ba nila un?
ReplyDeleteSa pagkakaalam ko employers are required to file the sickness/maternity payment thru the bank program. It does not mean that employees can file their mat claim thru a bank.
ReplyDeleteSa lahat ng questions with January due date, you need to have at least 3 months contribution from october 2013 to september 2014 to qualify for mat benefit.
ReplyDeleteHi, if may existing loan ako with SSS, does it matter? Like will it be deducted from my maternity benefit o di naman? Hoping for a response.
And Nessa, you will qualify for a loan kung masatisfy mo ang requirements for renewal ng loan.
ReplyDeleteIf my due date is Feb 2015 - March 2015. Anung months dapat yun at least may 3 months contribution ako? Kasi I just started working so from Feb 2014 till July or Aug 2014 lang ata contribution ko but I'm planning to resign na this September, pwede ba ituloy ko na lang siya as voluntary and pay the contributions ng months na dapat bayaran kung hindi umabot yun contributions ko while still working in order to qualify for the benefit?
ReplyDeleteYou should have at least three months contribution from october 2013 to september 2014.

DeleteAhh it depend on the salary pa dn po pla kung ilan na ipon.. Hndi po me employed eh.. Hehe.. Now i understand the computation.. :) ang due ko kc is july28.. Tnx for answering my question mam.. :)
Reply pls...
ReplyDeleteYour company should advance to you the mat benefitat kung di nila gagawin yun ay may violation sila sa sss. Coordinate with your HR dept and they should know the consequences if hindi sila sumunod sa sss law.
DeleteHi ms. arlene, ask ko lang po kung entitle po ako ng maternity benefits. meron po akong 64 contributions amounting of Php 62K plus, nakapag salary loan den po ako during my employment year 2011 pero ndi pa po fully paid until now, naging OFW po ako year 2012 of March since then ndi na po ako nkpagcontribute at ndi ko pa po nauupdate ang membership status gusto ko po sana itransfer ang membership ko as voluntary since nkabalik na po ako sa pinas at unemployed po ako ngaun. ang due ko po ay this coming Dec 2014. willing nmn po ako mg update ng contribution. gusto ko lang po malaman kung maqqualify po ako sa maternity benefits. thanks po.
ReplyDeleteNaku julie, you should have come across our site earlier. Sad to tell you if dec ang due mo you need to have at least 3 months contribution from july 2013 to june 2014. Dapat kasi updated ang contribution mo within the prescribed period.
DeleteAy ganon po ba. Sayang nmn.

ReplyDeleteGood day,
Last year d po ako nkahulog since july 2013 until dec 2013. This january 2014 until now naghuhulog po ako ng 440. Nanganak ako this august 7 2014.

For example po nag bayad ako ng 1760 this month and next month is 275 but 6 months completed parin ung 1760 na pay ko..

Hi, ms. Arlene!
Pwd p po b aq mghulog from july-sept? Nahinto po ang hulog ko 2004 p. My due is on april 2015.
Tanx po! God bless!
Hi if april ang due mo you need to have at least 3 months contribution any month from january to december 2014.
ReplyDeleteGood Day Ms.Arlene
Tnx pls reply
Hi! Questions. :)
ReplyDeleteI just submitted all my requirements for MAT2. How long should I wait to get the benefit? And I got 30k before giving birth (c-section), does that mean 9k makukuha ko for MAT2? Ganun ba yun? I saw a blog kasi. She said she got 30k din before giving birth, cs din, and then 39k daw after? Medyo naconfuse ako. :(
I suppose employed ang status mo kaya you got 30k in advance from your employer. Depende sa conditions like yun salary credit mo at yun credited months. If maximum salary credit mo at kumpletong six months ang nahulog mo sa prescribed period, you should be getting 41600 for caesarean delivery.so expect to get additional 11,600 if ever.
ReplyDeletehi i'm joms, due ko po on May 2014 , ang huling hulog ko ng SSS ay nung 2012 pa balak ko po ulit syang hulugan this october for the period of JULY-SEPT. as quarterly payment. If itutuloy tuloy ko po yung hulog ko more or less magkano po kaya ang makukuha kong maternity benifit? iniisip ko po kasi kung mag huhulog ako ng contribution or iipunin ko na lang yung pang contribution ko. salamat po.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteHi po, thank you for this article. EDD ko po is on March 2015.
Last SSS Contribution ko po is July 2012.
Eligible po ba ako? if not, pwede pa po bang mahabol? I worked as an OFW po kasi friom August to September 2014.

Hi. I had filed my mat 1 already.. Thanks..
ReplyDeleteHi the SSS online stills says that the salary credits ceiling is only 15000 pls see link
ReplyDeletehow do I compute it now?
Hi thess, para sa kaalaman ng HR nyo, heto po ang nakasulat sa batas: Maternity leave is an additional leave given to a female employee who has given birth or has suffered miscarriage. According to Section 14-A of Republic Act No. 8282 otherwise known as the Social Security Act of 1997, "a female member who has paid at least three (3) monthly contributions in the twelve-month period immediately preceding the semester of her childbirth or MISCARRIGE shall be paid a daily maternity leave benefit equivalent to one hundred percent (100%) of her average daily salary credit for sixty (60) days or seventy eight (78) days in case of caesarian delivery...".
ReplyDeleteHi nhoemi, since january 2014, the ceiling for salary credit has been increased from 15,000 to 16,000. The salary credit is the basis for computing sss benefits.
ReplyDeleteBut an individual benefit computation will depend on the monthly contribution that corresponds to that salary credit. Example, you are paying only 550/ month that corresponds to 5000 salary credit. So even if nagincrease ang ceiling pero hindi ka naman abot dun, walang epekto ang increase sa computation ng benefit mo.
